Digital Ruble

Took part in the development of the Digital Ruble infrastructure for the EAEU.

From 2017 to 2019, I worked at TakeWing on an early implementation of a digital currency for the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), an initiative promoted by Sergey Glazyev, then adviser to the President of Russia on Eurasian integration.

The project aimed to create an autonomous cross-border settlement system for participating states, providing transaction confidentiality through zero-knowledge cryptography: the network could verify transactions without revealing who transferred funds to whom or in what amount. The broader goal was to establish a settlement infrastructure that could continue operating independently of external financial systems and remain resilient to foreign sanctions.

The project was discontinued in 2019 for reasons unrelated to its technical development.

Selected work

Ethereum / Geth
→ Worked on an independent fork of Geth with a modified consensus mechanism and integrated system smart contracts providing protocol-level functionality, including support for zero-knowledge transactions.

Smart Contracts
→ Designed system-level smart contracts implementing counterparty pre-filtering, consensus modifications, and other protocol features defining the currency’s behavior.
